For me reading is not only pleasure and a way of expanding horizons, it engages imagination when readers naturally act out stories in their head, making it a very personal experience. Each little detail on a page can have multiple interpretations. With the popularity of a more rigid experience via modern audiovisual media, reading is very unique in its personal approach and the connection it creates between the author, the book and the reader, often being far more rewarding than moving pictures.
One of my favorite books is The Little Prince by a French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, an emotional and wise novel that is definitely worth reading as a child and returning to as an adult. The success of this novel is also depicted by the fact that it is fourth most-translated book in the world – interpreted into more than 250 languages and dialects, with sales totaling two million copies per year. To this day, there are 140 million copies sold worldwide, making it one of the best-selling books ever published. It was also voted the best book of the 20th century in France. I strongly recommend this book.
