E-readers allow me to read wherever I am, says Marietje Schaake, MEP
In my job it is hard to read much beyond policy papers. But I am currently re-reading a favorite book Love in A Time of Cholera. E-readers allow me to read almost any book, wherever I am in the world, says Ms Marietje Schaake, Member of the European Parliament, for the “Get Caught Reading” campaign.
Now that e-readers are widely available, reading is becoming less about the vehicle – screens or books – and more about the story itself. Digital technology allows writers to experiment with new forms of storytelling, using links, images or even music to enhance their story. While these developments are still in their early stages, the possibilities seem endless, added Ms Schaake.
