« The Red and the Black » by Stendhal is a fascinating psychological novel where the ambitious Julien Sorel is determined to rise above his origin and social class by adopting the code of hypocrisy of its society. What moves me in this novel is the beauty of Julien’s love for Mme de Rênal, once the conquest of her heart made and his revenge on society taken.

I am convinced that nowadays reading is crucial because reading is useless.
