Mr Dejan Papic, President of the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Serbia, for the “Get Caught Reading” campaign
Vanja Bulić is a successful journalist, screenwriter, television show host and author. His new novel, John’s Legacy, was published by Laguna to great acclaim by both critics and fans. In just under a month the novel went into 4 reprints, something that is almost unheard of on the Serbian market, says Mr Dejan Papic, President of the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Serbia, for the “Get Caught Reading” campaign.
After the success of his previous novel, Simon’s Stamp, the author wrote another historical thriller mixing fiction and fact around the true story of Serbian national treasure, The Gospel of Miroslav, the first gospel ever written in Serbian, back in the 12th century, added Mr Papic.
Thematic similarities can be seen between his new book and Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci’s Code in that both mix religion, history and thriller elements. Bulić, however doesn’t appreciate the comparison. Even though, as he says, he likes to get the reader interested in the past and history, he doesn’t treat religion lightly, underlined the President of the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Serbia.
