Reading has always been part of my life, be it at work or for personal pleasure, says Mr Jörg Leichtfried, Member of the European Parliament.

The book I am currently reading combines both: Martin Schulz’ book Der gefesselte Riese, which draws a somewhat discomforting but very realistic view of the current state of the European Union. At the same time it presents a way out of the crisis: We need real democracy and solidarity in Europe and we have to defend our social achievements with confidence and vigour. I can only recommend this book to everyone interested in the European Union and I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I do, added Mr Leichtfried.
