To read is to live! says Eva Bonnier, President of the Swedish Publishers Association

Reading poetry has been part of my life ever since childhood. My father used to read classic Swedish poetry to me and my brothers even when we were quite young, says Ms Eva Bonnier, President of the Swedish Publishers Association, for the “Get Caught Reading” campaign.

Ms Bonnier added: “Tomas Transtörmer was a favourite poet long before he was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature. To read a poem by Tomas can give you wonderful new insights about life and I return to his poetry both when I, for some reason, need to be comforted, or just because I feel good. To read is to live!”
