My favourite book is Márai Sándor: Európa elrablása (tr: “Stealing Europe”)
Márai Sándor’s stories written in 1947, his remarks, worries and his enthusiasm towards Europe are still current in these days. In the novel In a small village in France says, Europe will only stand until we are willing to maintain civilized dialogues among each other, until we are opened to each other’s language and culture. I didn’t quote him exactly, but this is because this text has become a part of me: I cannot do anything else, than to identify with it.
