“For me reading creates oasis of peace” – Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission
I always like to come back to my favourite book “The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World”, which was dedicated to me by Daniel Yergin, a Pulitzer-prize winning author, during our last meeting. This book is not only an essential reading for those working in field of energy, but also an inspirational source for those keen to understand how energy influences modernisation of global economy. This book embraces a fine blend of international and diplomatic elements; a theme I consider particularly enticing.
I always try to find rare moments to sit back and read. For me reading creates oasis of peace, where all revolves around sole relationship between the author and the reader. For me reading provides the best atmosphere where ideas can be created and materialised – ideas that would otherwise be forgotten. Every book has its own potential. Two people can read the same book and yet take in a different message. The way we approach each and every book will determine its value in our eyes and will shape our views and opinions in a unique way.
