With a book between my hands, in my office. I don’t believe it. It’s just a stolen moment from my day, for this Campaign, reminding me that I should take time to read more often, says Ms Marie-Thérèse Sanchez-Schmid, Member of the European Parliament.
And added “Reading has been a great pleasure since my childhood when, hidden under my bedsheets with a torch, I extended – from my hideout – this particular almost forbidden moment, until the point when my eyes were closing, but yet I continued to read on, enthralled by the text.
“How can you even begin to imagine that there exist people who are deprived of reading because they don’t know how to read, because they have no books, or because nobody ever taught them to love them?”
