To choose just A BOOK seems to be one of the most challenging tasks for any avid reader… I have picked THE NAME OF THE ROSE by Umberto Eco for several reasons: firstly, it is one of important books of 20th century about the role of books and reading in our lives, secondly, this was very special book for our company when we re-established once famous publishing house after long period of silence during Soviet times, thirdly – publication of this novel turned out to be a starting point for long-term friendships and cooperation with many book people both in Latvia and abroad.
Reading for me is not a job or pastime (although the both is true), it’s my way to search for wonders and inspiration, and a theme for good discussion.
